Discovery Place Science brings theoretical physics concepts to life by allowing students to interact with hands-on activities and equipment, as well as experience lab activities in a sophisticated setting. I often watch my students struggle with a concept in class and realize that their learning would deepen significantly if they were able to experience the concept and connect it to technology they use every day. The laboratory activity my students will engage in connects matter with electromagnetism, bringing two important physics concepts to life. I hope for my students to see how the science we explore in the classroom is directly related to technology and their potential future careers in STEM. I believe that this field trip will broaden my student's worldviews and perspectives as well as give them a greater understanding of science.
