The "WORMS LIFE" project will make a large impact on our whole school. We have a school garden and raise produce for our lunchroom salad bar. Students get to see a seed grow into a crop and then we harvest the produce to eat. The worm composting unit would take the scraps from the salad bar and turn them into compost to feed our next crop. The cycle that could be created with this project would be life changing for students and would enable them to see how all living things have a job to do in nature. What they will learn through composting will change the way they view even a worm's value to our ecosystem. My hope is that students will develop an appreciation and respect for all creatures.
