Flexible seating has been an invaluable part of the learning environment in my classroom. I have slowly incorporated flexible seating for the last 3 years until it has become what it is today. Each day students have a chance to choose the seating option that helps them learn best. This is because every child that comes into my classroom is different and has different needs. Some children sit on the floor. The rug I am requesting is plush and will allow for a more comfortable place to sit than the hard, thin carpet of the school. Other students need a little more movement and can use balance ball seats or a comfy floor seat to do a little bit of wiggling while they complete their work. Theses ball seats will allow them to bounce and wiggle without causing great distraction from work. The other floor seat is something I haven't tried but will allow students who want to sit on the floor, but still have back support, to be successful as well. All seating is designed to meet different child's needs and allows them to better interact with each other in different groupings.
