All children like to build things! The kits I am ordering will let the students construct items while at the same time teaching them problem solving skills and expose them to engineering at an early age. I want to use items that will appeal to both boys and girls, which the IO blocks will do. They will also appeal to English and non-English speakers. These will be part of my library and will be set up as makerspace stations where the students can go after checking out books. Ideally, the students will also be able to come to the library when they have some free time in the classroom an. Not only will I be helping the students, but I am also helping our wonderful teachers who may not have the time to expose the children to these kinds of activities.
