Reading tool kits will help promote the development of strong readers! My students will use the finger lights and the finger focus highlighters for both small group guided reading instruction and during read to self independent time. These tools, as part of the Reader's Tool Kit, helps with tracking words for new and improving readers as well as promoting focus during reading time. Whisper phones not only allow readers to hear themselves as they read in a class of 30 students, it also amplifies their individual voices which promotes reading accuracy and fluency. Plus, kids think they are just plain cool! The dry erase circles are for individual students to use during small group instruction. This is a super 'spot' for quick practice for phonemic awareness and phonics warm up skills before reading. Also, it's great for quick responses during and after reading. And finally, a desktop pocket chart used during small group time lends to organized and lean instruction. This Reader's Tool Kit will add to the overall learning experience for students while also adding excitement around reading!
