Our middle school classroom is centered on gaining new skills, collaboration and innovation, but this is difficult since the current student desks are over 20 years old and made with fourth graders in mind. Redesigning our classroom with a white-board paint wall, giant wall map, and flexible seating will provide a new learning space for students. Whether students are immersed in a gallery walk, four corners debate, peer revisions, creating documentaries or more, our new classroom features will spark their creativity and allow for increased collaboration. The ability to work in new settings to solve relevant problems will build learners ready for the competitive world of the 21st century. Not only this, but it will create a comfortable setting appropriate for their size and need for movement. Your donation will help us build a classroom centered on flexible seating and collaboration, a change we need since our current furniture was built in 1991! These features will inspire and help over 100 6th and 7th grade student learners in their social studies class and we can't wait to get started!
