All day long, my 127 students are exposed to florescent lighting in all of their classrooms. Over time, florescent lights can cause eye strain, headaches, and a myriad of other health issues. In order to combat this, I want to install light filters that cover the existing lights to soften their impact, while still providing quality lighting for class. Softer lighting creates a better atmosphere for learning! In addition to light filters, floor lamps provide alternative lighting for the classroom, and work well for discussion times as well as instruction times. During science experiments and labs, florescent lighting can be used with the light filters to give more light that is not as harsh and florescents alone. The products that I have selected will go a long way toward creating a more calming atmosphere for my students while still providing them with quality light for class. By creating a better, more calming atmosphere, students become more engaged in learning!
