My first grade students are filled with excitement as they come to the rug to learn. In our classroom we use an easel for everything. It holds important materials that are necessary to have right at your fingertips. A classroom easel is the heart of a first grade classroom. It is where all the learning takes place throughout the day. Students gather on the rug to listen to stories at the easel. The easel is where my students participate in interactive writing. It is where we learn about letter sounds as we become readers, by manipulating magnetic letters on the whiteboard. The easel we have now has seen better days. By adding this new easel to our classroom you would help make learning for my students interactive and tangible.
