My goal through this grant is to help foster a classroom family and support students' social-emotional needs. The use of rituals and providing students with a safe place where they can process their emotions and learn to self-regulate will help meet this goal. Supporting safety and connection in the classroom leads to students' enhanced ability to attend to academics and an increase in their learning. In addition, I also hope to increase empathy and kindness in my students as they become a classroom family and support others in the classroom and school in their social-emotional needs. Thank you for supporting my second grade students!
