Interactive notebooks are great for student and teacher alike. The notebooks are organizational tools that help those who struggle with organization, it helps students get and stay organized. I can say that using interactive notebooks has helped my classes with clarity of information and logical progression. They literally keeps the class all on the same page. No more digging in the black hole that is their binder or backpack looking for that elusive missing assignment. I can say look on unit 13 page 21 for your study guide, or you have page 6 empty where are your notes on International trade? To help with all this I even provide a Table of Contents at the beginning of each unit so they know what is coming up and what they are missing (A blank page is a missing grade). It is also great for review because everything is in one place. I look for 8.5 X 11 sturdy spiral bound notebooks so that they last for the semester and are the right size to easily glue in any handouts and/or take notes in class. I also color code my classes so having different cover colors relate to my different classes. (1st block red, 2nd green, 3rd yellow, 4th blue). This helps the teacher and the students stay organized. Please fund this project as an alternative program. We do not receive Title I funds and this is needed for our students.
