Flexible seating is a huge part of an inviting classroom environment nowadays. Through this project, the students in my classroom will have a comfortable and safe place to do their learning. I have been fortunate enough to visit many classrooms that use flexible seating successfully to help their students do their best learning. This past year I was able to use a few different seating options that I personally made and I saw a huge improvement in student engagement. My students were able to choose where they felt they could do their best work and they felt more in control of their own learning. By allowing students to have more choice, they feel more empowered and more confident in building their knowledge in the classroom. I feel that having flexible seating for students is a big start in allowing them to make their own choices and be as successful as possible.
