One major part of 2nd grade is learning to work for longer periods of time independently and in groups. My students can do the work but are struggling to stay focused. They move around a lot and it leads to distractions in the classroom. With the seating options we currently have in our room, my students are limited to movement. Many days they stay in their hard back chairs 80% of the day and work. We do brain breaks, they get a 20 minute recess, but it doesn't seem to be enough! The wobble stools will allow them to wobble while they read and work. Being active is a key part of health and learning and my students would love the opportunity be able to be more active while they work.
