Scholastic Action Magazine provides relevant informational text for my ELL students to explore and learn about our world. Our textbooks are so outdated for all students in Arizona. Most of our history books have George W. Bush as our president! Since most of my students do not have social studies, I am left to teach this content so they do not get behind their grade-level peers. Without current and engaging texts, my ELL students would have yet another disadvantage to overcome. This magazine comes with family connections and a digital component so my students can access materials at home as well.
