These sensory items will help support students with their behavior needs. My students strive to stay focused and manage their body and emotions. Every sensory item, whether it is a fidget, sound canceling headphones, yoga ball, etc. helps. Students with sensory processing dysfunction, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or autism find that these items offer the tactile sensory input and repetitive motor movements that are needed to help them with self-regulation. These items help the students 'tune out' what would otherwise be distracting and overwhelming -- lights, sounds, smells, movement, and close proximity to other people. When the needs of the students are met with these items, they are more capable to learn, grow, and self regulate at their full potential. Students have the choice of finding what fidgets, seats, and items work best for them. With the help of being provided these items, students will be able to be more independent, efficient, and successful in school.
