I am a first grade immersion teacher. This year I will have 23 students. A carpet is an excellent tool to use in the classroom because all the students are siting on a comfortable place together at the same time. This help them to be more focus and pay more attention while the teacher is talking without external noises or other distractions. I had a carpet last year but they were removed since the Covid-19 started. I need the carpet for different activities such as, Morning meetings, Group discussion, Students Participation, Guided Reading, Silent Reading, Show and Tell Presentations and Brain brakes.
Having a carpet would help to improve the acoustics in a classroom by minimizing impact noise and reducing reverberating sounds, to reduce background noise that can interfere with children's learning and increase stress. Students need to have a good environment that allows them to learn in a quiet way without external noises or distractions.
