Students meet for small group instruction every day. This is an important part of our day and the only time where we can work with students to reinforce or reteach specific skills and concepts. I like for my students to have many opportunities for movement. Research is clear: Memory and movement are linked. The restriction of movement, especially at a young age, impedes the experiential learning process. Children learn by experiencing their world using all of their senses. This is why I hope to acquire four wobble chairs for my small group table. I believe that students will look forward to coming to small group time and by simply wiggling around in the stool, their attention span and memory will increase.

About my class
