My goal in decorating my office is to create a safe, warm, welcoming space, that encourages growth mindset, academic achievement, and social emotional awareness. While I may be communicating with students and families virtually in the beginning of the year, I believe the background matters, and creating a welcoming office space will encourage students to visit me when we are back on campus. One thing that I am particularly excited about is creating a growth mindset wall. I want student to see this behind me as we chat, including posted notes to include their personal successes! Not only will I create a warm, welcoming space and a small SEL library, I have included a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers where I will be able to review and purchase resources from other amazing counselors!
