In the upcoming 2018-2019 school year I will have the honor of teaching K/1. I want to provide a memorable educational experience for each of my 22 students. I want to help shape their young minds and give them the tools and/or strategies to achieve their academic needs. We will be exploring letters and all the fun sounds they make. We will explore sight words to help build strong readers. We will explore math concepts and how it relates to our world. We will explore animals and their specific habitats. We will dive into a variety of book to help build reading comprehension. We will explore space and other scientific experiments to help fulfill our curiosity. I want to to be able to provide a library to my students that can spark new curiosities along with exploring new topics. I want my students to be able to feel confident and happy picking up a book that is at their reading level. I want to spark the love for books in my students as my teachers did for me. Reading is typically a challenge for most students and I want to help nurture their love for reading. I want the students to have access to a variety of books at various levels.
