The cold and flu season is upon us. The classroom is running out of the wipes that we had students bring with school supplies. Our population has a high level of students who couldn't bring the requested supplies at the beginning of the year. I like to have them wipe their desks down before snack to cut down on the germs. Germ patrol is a job in my classroom and they wipe down the door knobs and light switches. The Kleenex is running low and chap stick for sore lips would be so appreciated. They will continue to lick their lips, even when told that it will make it worse. The encouragement of using a tissue and not sleeves or hands is constant. Some students don't have snacks at snack time, and it is tough. I try to bring some things, but my budget for that is running low. When students have an empty stomach it is hard for them to think of anything else.
