There are several prerequisite skills required to learn in school. These include visual discrimination, memory, and rapid naming. If these skills are underdeveloped, automatic identification of letters, numerals and words can be difficult. Children love to play games! The games I chose for this project require kindergarten, first and second grade students to use visual skills while having fun with their peers. The games use pictures which are less abstract than letters and numerals. Some of the games have a speed component as well. Blink!; Spot It!; I Spy!; and Stare, Jr. are the games. Hope you can picture it!
