Our high school is one of the best-kept secrets in Phoenix. My students inspire me everyday; many don't know if their parents will be able to provide groceries for the week, if they will lose their home due to foreclosure, or if they need to start working in order to help support their family. Still, these students show up in my room every day with a smile on their faces, they do everything I ask of them, and they go above and beyond to help others on campus and out in the community. When one student's home burned down last year, students took a collection to help them cover expenses. Students also collected over 15,000 canned goods to donate to the local food pantry. It's incredible how selfless and truly honorable my students are!
