Currently, my students are studying the concept "Traits and Reproduction from the Genetics of a Spider Silk". Unfortunately, there are not any hands-on activities or text that explains genetics from a human perspective in the curriculum. My students are curious about their genetic structures and how it effects their familiar structures. My students do not like virtual experiments. I will use the DNA lab to further explain the topics of DNA, genes, genetic structure, variation, protein molecules, features, and chromosome. Giving my students the opportunity to complete a hands-on DNA lab, that will bridge the gap between imagination and real world problems.
