All of the students in my classroom have health concerns that can be effected by having unfiltered fluorescent lights in our classroom environment. Studies have shown that faulty fluorescent lights produce a visible flicker that can trigger epileptic brain activity which increases the likelihood of seizures. Since I have student's in my classroom that are prone to seizures, I would like to place fluorescent light filters over the lights in our classroom. In addition, unfiltered fluorescent lights have shown to increase the likelihood of headaches, eyestrain, and buzzing noises that can lead to secondary problems, such as undesirable student behavior. Having fluorescent light covers will improve my students' mood, behavior, performance, and overall health.
