The large carpet will be placed in the back of the classroom and used as a gathering place - for both group and independent reading, character circles, group lessons, etc. We can be scientists on the rug as we dig through the earth's crust reading the Magic School Bus - Inside the Earth. The carpet will be used in the mornings as we gather and discuss the agenda for the day. We can be historians as we discuss our roles in the community and the classroom and how they have changed over the years. We can learn about each other as we read personal stories that we have written in class. The possibilities are endless!
