Students come to the room for reading, writing and math intervention. I am in the process of creating learning spaces that let the students access what they need in ways that work best for them. Places include a reading nook, writing center and alternative seating. Using Chromebooks with speech to text and mice have really opened up opportunities for my students. We only have two mice and there are 10-15 students in the room at a time, so we have to take turns on who gets to use them. Best moment? A kid sitting in a bean bag chair with a Chromebook shouting, "Hey I just got 100%!" I am hoping other teachers see how successful the students can be in this type of learning environment.
