Many of my LD students have oral accommodations. This allows them to access instructional materials beyond their reading level. By giving each child their own set of headphones, I hope to provide them with ownership and pride, in addition to allowing them access to the instructional material. When assessing students using their accommodations you may have many of them on different instructional levels or grades. With the ability for each student to listen to their assessment through headphones on their school issued computer there are fewer distractions for them and their peers. Many of my students also use the headphones to calm the noise around them, helping them focus on the task at hand. The power strips will keep all the technology charged.
