With large class sizes, having the space to work with small groups can be a challenge. With our new table, we can meet in one place where the teacher or a student leader can see and lead everyone that needs help equally, and everyone can have a voice. During small group instruction now, my students usually stay at their desks, which can be confusing or hard to hear since they are further away. Otherwise, they sit at the rectangular table that is too small for eighth graders, and can really only comfortably fit 3-4 kids. This table's 30 inch height will be great for my students, and I hope to provide more opportunities for student help and one-on-one attention! I do not use a traditional "teacher desk" in my classroom, so I hope to use this as my main workspace, and always have an open invitation that any student who needs help can come and sit at the table for assistance!
