Immersing my students in literature is one of my favorite things! I love to read to my students, I love it when they read to me and to each other. Having a library that's rich, full of choices and has books that every child will enjoy is a blessing. I spent several years working with special needs students and having the materials that they need to be successful is so crucial. This year is a brand new opportunity! I am so lucky to have a blind student in my class! This is going to be an amazing year not only for me but for the peers. What an amazing skill set the students will gain from our learning community this year. One of the best opportunities I can provide for all my students is the ability to dig into literature together. For students to be able to sit shoulder to shoulder with a peer and buddy read with text and braille is something special that will enrich the lives of everyone. I have many books in my library but to be able to add books in braille so all students can enjoy grabbing a book to read would be amazing! I believe a classroom should have everything it needs to support ALL learners so ALL learners can thrive in their education, no matter their ability.
