The items I chose will help my students increase their interest in reading. Five year old children should be excited about learning to read. Having an area of the room designated for them to read independently will help them to practice comfortably reading on their own. We have a tile floor in our classroom so the carpet for the reading area will make it more inviting. A sturdy bookcase is a must as my students look through to find all their favorite books. The headphones will be used with our laptops for online reading and also for computer testing and work time. A bookcase, carpet and headphones will make a huge impact on students learning to read in my classroom. These are basic items that every classroom should have.
