Given the varying abilities of my students in my Special Day Class for those with specific learning disabilities, it only makes sense to have a variety of books to accommodate their needs. Being a second year teacher, my classroom library has a long way to go. Some of the accommodations these books and resources will provide include stories written in dyslexia-friendly fonts, a CD player and audio books to accommodate those with visual processing disorders, and books with plenty of visuals. This will ensure that all students have the accessibility and opportunity needed to become an avid reader. Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.
