Our elementary school Singing Golden Eagles is an amazing fourth and fifth grade chorus! These 70 kids work incredibly hard and are so deserving of not only an awesome performance experience but a day full of fun! Well... They can accomplish both by a day at Kings Dominion! This trip is an opportunity our students have never had before, and it won't just be a "day in the park," but a musical experience they will never forget! Students will have the chance to perform in front of an audience that is made up of people other than their friends and family, see and hear other ensembles, and receive adjudication and comments, scores and awards based on their performance. In order to participate, our students have a lot to do! They have to sign a contract stating that their grades and behavior will meet certain standards, attend weekly rehearsals before school, and perform in two concerts. That is a lot of responsibility for nine, ten and eleven year old kids, but they have proven time and time again that they can rise to the challenge! This trip will be fun and exciting for everyone involved, but as we all know, trips cost money... To participate in the Kings Dominion Music Festival, students will have to pay for the buses, food, and tickets (which include the actual festival fee) to the park. The tickets alone have a high cost. By donating to this project, you will be helping to subsidize the cost of the tickets. If our goal is reached, it will lower the ticket cost, and if it is matched, it will lower it even more. Please help me make this trip possible for my incredible students!
