The use of whiteboards with dry erase markers is a daily activity in my classroom during math. Using the modeling method in math, students come to each small group table with whiteboards for guided practice and to modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. School Supplies are a necessity! Students also of course use pencils daily to complete a Bell Ringer. Bell Ringers contain review, current and preview skills that will better prepare students for the state test and retaining what they have learned throughout the year. Last but not least, glue sticks! In our classroom each student keeps an interactive math notebook. This notebook contains vocabulary words, short cuts, key math notes and many other important items that are glued in.
