As a new teacher this school year, I am trying to accumulate games and activities for my students to maximize learning and provide them with exciting experiences in first grade. Our first grade class consists of 25 students with varying interests and needs. Right now, I only have a few games and puzzles in my closet for free time. However, if I could provide each of my students each with a STEM activity in groups that would ensure academic learning along with play. I would love to have blueprints and blocks, legos, and magnetic toys for my students. Through learning with their hands and their minds with STEM resources, it will increase student learning and engagement outside the traditional math and reading blocks.
