The use of sensory items, especially the chair bands, play sand and a balance ball will allow my students to focus, get work done, and move at the same time. Nine out of my fifteen students have ADHD. I have been unsuccessful in getting something as simple as chair bands from our CST team. Several students have to sit with a yoga mat or carpet square under their desk so their tippy-tappy-toes don't disrupt others. While I do have flexible seating in my room that allows students to move around, there are times when students need to be in their desks and these supplies would help greatly!
