My students, along with the 4 other kindergarten classes at our school, love to explore and create. In such a highly-academic environment their opportunities to explore hands on are limited. In the coming months our students will begin exploring the wonderful world of science. They are excited to learn about matter, motion, and magnets, but we don’t have resources to make this curriculum as dynamic as we’d like to. This Lakeshore STEM bundle will provide our students with the opportunity to learn by doing. This bundle includes hands on activities for students to learn about how magnets work, the way things move, what constitutes matter, and so much more. Rather than learning about chain reactions through videos and worksheets, this kit will provide our students with materials to make their own chain reaction. This will allow them to create a plan/design for a chain reaction, test it, and then reflect on how it worked, adjusting their creation for different results. Each kit in this bundle requires students to engage in higher order thinking. Hands on learning is everlasting and will challenge our students to think critically about the concepts they are exploring.
