Preschool learning centers provide children with areas to learn and play! There are many benefits to having learning centers in a preschool/prekindergarten classroom. Not only do they allow children to explore, experiment, and promote social skills, but they also help with classroom management by keeping students actively engaged with hands-on activities of their choosing. I would love to add an art center, an alphabet center, and a listening center to my classroom and this project will make that possible! In the art center I would love to include easels that will provide my students with a place to show their creativity, self expression, and to work on motor skills. I would also like to add a small table for art activities like playdough and markers. In the alphabet center I would love to have a child size table where they can practice early literacy skills through age appropriate toys and activities. A listening center will encourage a love of reading while expanding vocabulary and comprehension skills. A cd player and headphones will give my students access to books we have on cd while they follow along with their favorite books.
