Reading and reading comprehension are the biggest struggles in my classroom. I am blessed to be able to work in small groups with my students daily, but I am unable to sit and read with each individual student daily, though I wish I could! Having these CD players and headphones will allow my students to be exposed to texts they can't yet decode for themselves. Reading is the basis for all areas! If you can't read the math problem, you most likely can't solve it. If you can't read the directions in science class, you most likely won't be able to perform the experiment correctly. Reading isn't just important, it is NECESSARY.
