The students will learn about fossils and how they are created. Digging for fossils will make a huge difference in my students' learning: we have done a unit on how fossils tell us about the past and the culminating experience will be the highlight of the time we have spent learning about paleontology! The students have learned a lot about Mary Anning and other paleontologist. They have also learned about the work that paleontologist do to learn about prehistoric life. Chipping away at kits like the "Ultimate Dinosaur Science Kit: Dig Up Dino Fossils and Assemble a T-Rex Skelton!", students will excavate fossils (dinosaur bones, mosasaur, and fossilized shark teeth.) My students will be able to remember this experience for years to come!
