Fundations is a a program that focuses on reading and writing to meet students where they are in the reading and writing process. The Fundations program is used throughout the United States and is thoroughly documented to be a successful research based program. The program is multisensory, structured, systematic, cumulative, and explicit. In order to be effective, students need to use manipulative to help them build and take apart words. The Fundations At-Home Packet gives each student a low-tech way to do just that. By building a foundation in kindergarten students will have the tools necessary to use reading to learn.
