With these materials, students will be able to work on improving their math skills and build their "math-esteem". My third graders (like many) have missed a year and a half of instruction. They have not used manipulatives to support their learning of mathematics. It has been proven time and time again that students need to understand mathematical concepts in a concrete manner. These math manipulatives/ visuals will allow them to tackle the complex topics that we will be dealing with this year and build the self-confidence that some are struggling to attain.

About my class
