The best teachers are the ones who continue to learn. As teachers, our primary goal is to continue to develop our skills as educators for the benefit of our students. The Nation Board Certification Process is known as one of the most beneficial experiences for teachers as it is a highly reflective process that requires teachers to following a specific process for reflection. Teachers must understand the students they are teaching, set worthwhile goals, implement instruction, evaluate what students actually learned, reflect on how effective the teaching was, and then set new goals based on this reflection. Most teachers who describe the National Board process argue that the experience truly influences the teaching practice holistically. Teachers reflect on their effectiveness across multiple lessons, forcing them to examine their daily practice as educators and better their understanding of the teaching process. The process will focus me as a reflective teacher and improve my practice as a teacher. Students will benefit by my improved process and in future lessons based on results, data, observation, and feedback. This process forces me to examine how I am teaching students and determine if my lessons are effective in producing the desired outcomes. This benefits students by ensuring my instruction meets their education needs in the classroom.
