Armand Bayou Nature Center offers outreach to schools, where they bring in animals and an expert to teach students about the local bayou and nature preservation. Students will specifically learn about the different animals in the bayou ecosystem, and what adaptations they've acquired as a means of survival. Opportunities to interact hands on with the local wildlife in a safe environment will offer a meaningful learning experience for my students. This is something you just can't replicate with a textbook or short video. The most effective teaching method is to make learning fun, and with this outreach we can certainly make that happen!
