Help my students on their journey to becoming proficient in the English language! In order to accelerate their English language development, we are engaging in word and language study versus traditional vocabulary development. In word and language study, students take an inquiry-based approach to learning to recognize patterns and relationships in word formation and meaning. Through word study and play, language learners move away from simply memorizing individual vocabulary words to understanding the ways in which the new language works. Rather than memorizing a set of 10 new vocabulary words, students will have the ability to recognize 10 new word patterns, which can translate into thousands of new words!
