3D pens will give my students an opportunity to create art using technology. This will aid in fulfilling our state standard of incorporating contemporary media into art. Our school has a 3D printer and our students are very excited about using it. However, our school is very large and the time involved with creating and printing is limiting. 3D pens in art would reach a larger population of students more quickly. Future projects would include lessons in architecture and creating 3D structures with my fourth and fifth grade classes. Another idea for a lesson would be to challenge my students to go from 2D to 3D by making a 3D name plate. The possibilities are endless.
