I believe that a calming environment increases student productivity but I need your help to create one in my classroom! I will place the rugs and lamps in the back of the classroom and use them to provide flexible seating options, lesson intervention/extension areas, or calm down spaces. I will use fluorescent light filters to reduce the harsh glare of the classroom lights. My students will use the cardstock paper to keep their interactive notebooks organized according to unit and the white board markers with lap-sized white boards to work while sitting on the floor or during tutorials. The donations to this project will help my students engage in authentic and meaningful interactions with their peers, as well as create opportunities for them to become college and career ready. Students come to us with many different experiences and abilities. By creating an area for students to have options other than traditional seating, it will help increase engagement, meaningful peer interaction, and create life-long learners. I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
