The students in my school struggle with reading. The materials requested will help improve their literacy skill with hands on experiences. Using the beginning phonics games, students will develop basic phonemic awareness skills that will help them develop strong reading skills. My goal is to build strong reading skills in my students that will lead to closing the gaps in learning for students in Title I schools. Research shows that when students are engaged in purposeful play that allows them to manipulate and explore they will retain more knowledge. I want to be able to provide my students the opportunities to engage in purposeful play that will help them foster a strong foundation in literacy. The school I work in is an early literacy campus we focus on building readers.
