Flexible seating allows the children to have a choice of where they are working in the classroom. It helps them feel empowered by having a choice and control over their environment. Children need to be able to move around the room. A comfortable student is a productive student. This seating will also encourage the students to collaborate with each other and take turns. While research on flexible seating is limited, it's clear that learning environments can have a direct impact on student achievement. Creating more student control and less teacher control has improved student engagement. Flexible seating makes learning more fun!
