I've brought several seating options from home, but would like to give them other options for seating. They enjoy changing their seat depending on their mood or what activities we are doing that day. I allow flexibility with their seating so they can choose where they want to sit, which seat they prefer, and move around as needed. Adding flexible seating options has significantly decreased negative behaviors in my classes. Research has shown that students work better when they're given choices. I also do low lighting with lamps instead of the fluorescent lights to help the room have a calmer and more relax vibe.
