Our Special Ed/ Functional Skills students sometimes need a space where they can decompress using nature to calm their minds and their bodies . This path will help our students that need walker or wheelchair access to the garden - a garden that was created specifically for them. Research shows that some students learn and process best when outdoors. For our special needs students, this is especially true. The sensory garden gives them a chance to experience all senses - touch, smell, sight, hearing (tall grasses) and taste (herbs, fruit).
