The science and math curricula that the fifth grade team at my school has adopted requires that each student have access to technology in order to experience simulations and other resources built into the lesson plans. Unfortunately, despite this curriculum requirement, currently in my class there are not even enough devices for each pair of students to use their own technology. If I am able to purchase three more Chromebooks for my class, I will have enough devices to more effectively implement our math and science lessons! With three more Chromebooks, each pair of students will have their own device to examine constellations through various simulations, as well as practice their numeracy through interactive games. Thus, there will be a variety of more options for independent, group, and student-centered learning using technology.
